The 2024 Prostate Cancer Patient Conference is a two-day in-person educational event for prostate cancer patients and caregivers. Join other patients and caregivers who will be attending from across the US and internationally. Renowned physicians from different specialties will be covering topics including every topic in prostate cancer. At the end of the conference, Drs. Mark Scholz and Mark Moyad host an extended Q+A session covering topics and questions that have been submitted by attendees.

Created in 2008, the Montreal Chapter experienced difficult years in the beginning. Led by Daniel Séguin the results were unfortunately inconsistent. Daniel was able to persevere and attract dynamic, like-minded people to increase the number of participants and donations to the Montreal organization supporting research against prostate cancer. To date, the Montreal chapter has raised nearly $338,000.00 dollars for the fight against prostate cancer.

Established in 2005, the Golden Horseshoe Motorcycle Ride for Dad has raised over $600,000 dollars for the fight against prostate cancer. The proceeds from our annual events are invested in ground-breaking prostate cancer research and life-saving public awareness campaigns of the disease and the importance of early detection. Our chapter is a grassroots community partner with many local sponsors taking part in our chapter’s success. We are always looking for volunteers and we encourage you to get involved in the fight against prostate cancer!

Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada invites you to an inspiring evening featuring five patients and a partner discussing their firsthand experience with the most common cancer in Canadian men. The tone will be upbeat and a celebration of their resilience through their respective journeys, including experiences with radiation, active surveillance, advanced prostate cancer, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Let this evening serve as a reminder that you don't have to face this journey alone.

First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Communities Profiles provide community information and resources that can be used to support people with cancer.

In collaboration with its partners, CancerCare Manitoba has established Cancer Navigation Services, a free resource of health professionals available to assist people living in five regional health authorities: Interlake-Eastern, Northern, Prairie Mountain, Southern and Winnipeg.

On this web page, Cancer Care Manitoba goes over what clinical trials are and the role they play in cancer care practices. They also provide a search tool to find ongoing cancer treatment clinical trials in Manitoba and across Canada.

The Home Cancer Drug (HCD) Program is a program for Manitobans diagnosed with cancer that allows access to eligible outpatient oral cancer and specific supportive drugs at no cost to the patient.

The Community Cancer Programs Network (CCPN) is a provincial program of CancerCare Manitoba that partners with the Regional Health Authorities. It enables patients to live outside of Winnipeg to receive quality cancer care.

CancerCare Manitoba can arrange to have a trained Health Interpreter from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) at your appointments who: Can come to your work or help over the phone, are available in many languages, including sign and indigenous languages, can help you ask about your treatment, attend counselling and more. There is no cost to patients for interpreters.

The registered dietitians at CancerCare Manitoba have decades of experience working with cancer patients. Working with other healthcare team members, registered dietitians provide one-on-one nutrition education to cancer patients and their caregivers. They also offer group classes on various nutrition-related topics and participate in the professional education of clinical staff and dietetic interns.

Consult our list of support groups and support programs and other services offered in Manitoba for cancer patients, such as peer support and psychosocial oncology - counselling.

Individuals diagnosed with cancer who have been patients at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) should call the Cancer Helpline if they are experiencing severe symptoms related to cancer or side effects of their treatment. Examples include high fever, severe vomiting, malaise, wound-care issues, dehydration, constipation, pain or other non-emergency symptoms. Expert staff can assist with managing these symptoms or treatment side effects.
